One day, back in March 2009, my wife Patty and I drove down to Palm Coast to check out the high-tide surf on the coquina rocks at Washington Oaks State Park. I had a great time getting low-angle shots of good-sized waves crashing on the rocks with my wide-angle lens and, for extra drama, I was trying to get close. At one point, I was crouched down low on the rocks with my face in the viewfinder, concentrating on framing a shot and I gradually became aware of Patty’s voice in the background. “Scott… Scott! … SCOTT…” and BOOM a huge wave crashed over me, soaking me and my camera with seawater and seashell fragments.
This is the last shot I got before walking drippingly and dumbfoundedly back up the beach to clean my gear and be ridiculed by my wife. LOL.
